Ever wonder how to manage your child's eczema?

When I was approached by Physiogel to attend a skin seminar, I was sceptical about the fit for a family journal. However, it was after the brief that a topic on a child's eczema would be included that it piped my interest.

What is eczema?

Eczema is a chronic skin condition in which the skin becomes itchy, reddened, cracked and dry. It affects up to 1 in every 5 children in Singapore. Approximately 80% of atopic eczema cases started before age 5, with a sizeable number of children showing symptoms before age 1. It may be a minor inconvenience for some children, but for others, it's a major ordeal.

Fortunately, the boys have only minor cases of eczema. However,, I get on-and-off rashes off my neck,, which was diagnosed as a form of eczema. Thus this topic will be of interest to me.

There will be other topics that will be discussed at the seminar. Topics ranging from managing dry and sensitive skin, truth on dandruff/scalp disorder/hair loss and Sun Protection will be discussed. I am am particularly interested in the the topic of dandruff as I had a chronic dandruff issue that plagued me since young.

The topics will be covered by Drs and Professors of the trade. If you are interested in attending, the seminar is open to the public.
