Kid's activities for September School Holidays 2013 (Singapore)

What another holiday!!!

June Holidays were just yesterday, and now September School Holidays are upon us. It may only be a week-long, but there are activities galore during this holiday, from 7th to 15 Sept. This is reserved for most students to gear up on the final exams. Nevertheless, all work and no play make Jack a dull boy.

Need help to figure out what to do this holiday?
Do not fret; we bring you the top 10+ September School Holidays for kids. These activities will help bond the families together.

1) Have a Staycation

No time for an extended vacation? A holiday is but a mere stone's throw away in Sunny Singapore. Have a staycation at the family favourite Resort, World Sentosa. Other notable locations include Marina Bay Sands, Fullerton Hotel and  Shangri La Rasa Sentosa.

See our reviews on Festive World RWS and Equarius Hotel RWS for more staycation ideas.

2) Visit the Neigbours

Sunway Lagoon

Want to travel but would prefer to take long flights? Try a bus ride to Genting or a trip to Sunway Lagoon.

Legoland Malaysia

For closer-to-home options, head down to Legoland Malaysia to see the world's first Lego Death Star from Star Wars made of 750000 Lego bricks with 10,000 unique glow-in-the-dark tiles.

Bintan Lagoon Resort

If the bus is not your preferred mode of transport, you can consider a cruise to Bintan for some Sand and Sun!

3) Cruise the High Seas

Superstar Virgo Cruise

Take a cruise to the high seas. Star Cruise has a low-season promotion at 50% off all Pax. Cruising is great for family bonding, as experienced on our cruise holiday with Superstar Virgo.

4) Have a Family Studio Session

Orange Studios
Say Cheese!

It is time to update the family portrait. If you are interested in capturing precious and fun family moments with the young ones, we recommend Orange Studios. We had a studio session with them and were pleased with the results.

Check out this space next week for a special promotion for our readers!

5) ARTS for Kids
WowART Holiday Workshops

Fancy making a mythical dragon, doing Chinese ink painting or a French artist's impression? How about a holiday art class for the kids. WowART is having a series of holiday workshops, especially for kids aged 2.5 years and up.

Check out our special discount and giveaways for the WowART Holiday Workshops.

6) Playground Time

Singapore Top Indoor Playgrounds

The holidays are always a good time to bring the child out for some playground fun. However, given the sunny conditions in Singapore, it may not be wise to bring the child out for play in the hot afternoon. Fret not; Singapore has a lot of indoor playgrounds catering to kids. Our Singapore Top Playgrounds list has been a hit amongst our readers and is an excellent source of information for parents planning their next indoor playground trip.

7) Catch a Movie
2 kids-friendly shows will be screened during the holiday week.

Planes

From above the world of "Cars" comes "Disney's Planes," an action-packed 3D animated comedy adventure featuring Dusty (voice of Dane Cook), a plane with dreams of competing as a high-flying air racer. But Dusty's not exactly built for racing—and he fears heights. So he turns to a seasoned naval aviator who helps Dusty qualify to take on the defending champ of the race circuit. Dusty's courage is put to the ultimate test as he aims to reach heights he never dreamed possible, inspiring a spellbound world to soar.

Coby the Robosapien

A robot boy and a human boy team up to save their respective parents, who are held captive by the organization that funded the robot's creator.
Planes

8) Visit a Pet farm

Pasir Ris Kids Kampong

There are 2 places in Singapore that we discovered for small animal lovers. The first would be the Pasir Ris Kids Kampong, and the other would-be The Live Turtle and Tortoise Museum. If you are into old-style longkang fishing, the Kids Kampong is a wise choice. On the other hand, if you are always fascinated with 4 legged turtles and tortoises, the Live Turtle and Tortoise Museum will not disappoint you!
