Japan Day 2 : Kyoto

Breakfast at Sky Lounge
We had breakfast with a view at the sky lounge at our hotel before departing to our next destination

Louis with Grandparents

The breakfast was buffet style, there were quite a bit of variety here in this hotel

Wacky breakfast

Guess who are we?

Our first itinerary is taking the bullet train from Osaka to Kyoto. It takes about 14 mins compared to an hour and a half from the bus

The train was travelling at a speed of 300kmph. It's rather fast compared to our MRT :)

Kiyomizudera Temple

Our main attraction in Kyoto is the Kiyomizudera Temple. It is also known as the 'Pure Water Temple'. It is known for its wooden veranda protruding to the cliff and the Otowa Waterfall

The Entrance

The Stunning Veranda

We are suppose to drink from the Otowa Waterfall

This is a write up of the significance of the Waterfall from Japan guide

The Otowa Waterfall is located at the base of Kiyomizudera's main hall. Its waters are divided into three separate streams, and visitors use cups attached to long poles to drink from them. Each stream's water is said to have a different benefit, namely to cause longevity, success at school and a fortunate love life. However, drinking from all three streams is considered greedy

Udon Lunch

We did some shopping around the temple. However we had only 15 min to shop after the temple ( The tour timing is very tight!). The next stop will be back to our hotel and that is a 3 hour bus ride!
