March on!

 Daily Dose : March On

After a horrendous Feburay, March could not come any sooner.

February had seen a usually large number of mishaps that had taken away lives. From the Tiong Bahru car crash to Tuas explosion and fire with a couple more accidents, suicide and murder, it was a month for us to forget.

Let's March forward. This month is a fresh start. Hopefully, as we move forward, there will be more positive news for the year ahead.

1) 11 Covid19 cases

  • 10 Imported
  • 1 Dorm

The sole community case is one from the dorm. This is linked to a previous case. The man is a delivery assistant at Chng Woodworking Pte Ltd and located in a dorm at  Kranji Way

Imported cases as follow

  • 1 (Case 60523) is a Dependant’s Pass holder who arrived from Switzerland.
  • 4 (Cases 60520, 60522, 60525 and 60529) are Long-Term Visit Pass holders who arrived from India and Myanmar.
  • 4 (Cases 60519, 60524, 60528 and 60530) are Work Pass holders who arrived from India and the Philippines.
  • 1 (Case 60527) is a Work Permit holder who arrived from India.

2) No Flu cases at Singapore Polyclinics in more than 8 months

Has Covid19 wipe out the flu?

With mask wearing, social distancing and staying home, there are lesser people falling ill. Could we have eradicated flu in Singapore as a result of our actions. A piece of POSITIVE news to start March.

3) Global Covid19 herd immunity may take nearly 5 years
Unless you want to wait it out in your cave, you might want to consider taking the vaccine.
That said, kids probably cannot travel for holidays till they are over 16 when vaccine are available to them. So does that mean no holidays for the next 5 years? 😨

4) 10 people, including 3 children injured after fire engulfs HDB Flat in Whampoa

A fiery end to February. Let's hope we have a pause in March.
