Online Grocery Shopping

Daily Dose Lite:  Online Grocery Shopping

It is time for the weekly grocery supply run.

Last week, I was prepared to head to the stores for a quick dash to grab the groceries ( most run took me 30 mins ). This weekend, with the surge in community cases (199 cases in a week), I decided the better option was to do the run online.

For someone who has not done online shopping before, it was quite an experience. Instead of 30 mins, it took me a couple of hours to get the orders through. First , it searched for the products on a particular platform that took more time than it took me at the store. The second would be the wait for a delivery slot to place the order. The latter part is more like tikam tikam. If you are lucky, you might get one.

Given how the situation has changed in Singapore, we take what we can. I am glad to finally got a slot that saves me from heading out for the run. The orders are placed. Now I just have to wait a day for it.

If you have online grocery tips, do feel free to share!

1) 29 Covid19 Cases

  • 22 Community
  • 7 Imported

Out of the 22 community cases, 7 were unlinked. The unlink cases continue to be worrisome. However, it is still manageable at a single-digit

Of the 22 cases, 5 students are on the list. They are from SP (2), My First Skool, Springdale Primary and M.Y. World Preschool.

3) MOM apologies to ex DJ Jade Rasif for saying her account of maid's COVID-19 scare was inaccurate

The crux of the matter was Ms Jade Rasif had made a valid concern; MOM refuted it as inaccurate. Upon the recent release of information from Ms Jade, MOM, retracted and noted some of their choice of words and actions were not accurate

Turns out that Jade had receipts and voice recording to back up her claims. This episode had raised eyebrows for several reasons. It showed that ministries are not infallible. It also highlighted the importance of keeping proof when making a statement. Without that, Jade could be easily branded as a liar and an attention seeker (she was judged to be so when MOM initial statement was out). At least, she is vindicated now.

Another learning lesson: Judge not until you have the full truth!
