1 more week

 Daily Dose :1 More week

We are down to the final week of Phase 2 Heighten Alert. The question on everyone's lips is that will there be an extension?

Looking at the cases in the community over the last few days, there is an optimism that restrictions will be eased. However, we do think that it is remote to expect it to go back to Pre Phase 2 HA days where gatherings of 8 are allowed. Instead, if there is easing, it will probably be small steps such as allowing dining in for up to 2 or increase gathering size to 5.

One thing for sure, with 3 weeks more to school reopening, the last thing we need is to have a cluster from younger kids that are not scheduled for vaccination. Let's hope that whatever comes after June 13 will take this into account. With 3 school children on the list yesterday, it is too early to ease restrictions completely.

1) 20 COVID-19 cases

  • 6 Community
  • 14 Imported cases

Out of the 6, 5 are linked while one is unlinked. The Unlink case is a student at Paya Lebar Methodist Girl's school and had symptoms since 29 May. She did not seek medical treatment until 4 June. Another 2 students, 10 year old from Endeavour Primary and 13 years old from Canberra Secondary School are on the list.

2) Preschoolers with potential exposure to COVID10 to be placed on a leave of absense.

Pre-schoolers and pre-school staff with potential exposure to Covid-19 - such as having household members who have been quarantined following close contact with a Covid-19 case - will be placed under more stringent measures from Tuesday (June 8).

Personally, I think this should be extended to all school students once school reopens.
