The standout vocal would be Jess Michelmore as Sophie, the 20-year-old girl aspiring to discover her real father. 21 years ago, her mom, Donna, had 3 lovers within a short period, and 21 years later, she is trying to find out who the father is. Her crystal clear voice is befitting of her role.

Musically, it was right on point. ABBA Fans would instantly recognize the melodies as they're sung. Though a bit more creativity in the performances would be a welcome addition.

The real magic unfolds during the encore, treating fans to a mini concert featuring Donna and the Dynamos as they belt out Mamma Mia and Dancing Queen to the delight of the dancing audience.

In Summary, this musical will strike a chord with the older generation and the younger audiences seeking to immerse themselves into the music of yesteryears. It might not be as avant-garde as contemporary musicals like "And Juliet", but it's undoubtedly worth an evening of retro entertainment.

Which Seat to choose?

The stalls will be the best seats in the house. We were at the B Reserve, and the views were just as clear. Anywhere in the stalls would give you a decent view of the stage at Marina Bay Sands.

Mamma Mia will be performing at Sands Theatre from now till Nov 5. Get your tickets here!
