Taiwan Culture at T2 @ Taste of Taiwan

Less than a month after our Taipei trip, we were craving for Taiwanese food.

So when we learned that there was a new Taiwanese restaurant at T2, we just had to give it a shot.

The Resturant

Tucked away on a corner of T2 Public Level 3, overlooking Mall North, this restaurant has a laidback vibe and warm lighting that creates a cosy atmosphere.

You will first notice a red train at the restaurant entrance. If you would like to take instgramable photos, this is the spot at the resturant.

The interior features a light-coloured floor and wooden chairs, giving it a casual cafe feel.

The Food

Taiwan Culture menu focuses on single-serving rice or la mian with options for sides rather than individual dishes to share.

You can also add cold dishes to your meal, and they are self-service from the cold dish counter.

We choose the Seafood Omelette Rice ($9.90) and the Beef Brisket Omelette Rice ( $9.90)

We love how both were presented with generous chunks of prawns and beef in their respective bowls. The omelette was creamy and melted with each bite.

For the sides, we had the chicken Xiao Long Bao ( $5.90). Although it was presented in a spoon, it was not as soupy as we anticipated.

The star of the meal will be the salt and pepper crispy chicken ($10.90). It is crunchy and tasty and reminded us of the crispy chicken we had on our last Taipei trip.

For drinks, we had the Red milk tea with rainbow jellies. It is a tad sweet, so if you are on a diet, you might want to pick another drink.

Verdict

Two things stood out for us during this dining experience. The affordability and the generous portions for the price point make it a place worth visiting if you are looking for an inexpensive, quick bite.

We would not hesitate to return to try the rest of the dishes!
