LEGO SIMPSONS Minifigures Series Guide

It is an open secret that we are LEGO fanatics. Since we had reviewed the last LEGO Movie Minifigures Series, we thought it will be great to do a follow up with the latest LEGO minifigures series The Simpsons LEGO minifigure series.

Bart Simpsons
The boys are not familiar with The Simpsons. As a result I thought this time round I could claim the collection as my own. I had initially set out to just collect The Simpsons family comprising of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie. However when the boys caught sight of my new acquisition, it was destined to be part of THEIR collections of LEGO mini figures.

With that came the request to complete it and thus the origin of this review.
The Simpsons
As per the previous review of LEGO movie mini figures, we give you tips on how to pick the mini figure you want. There are a total of 16 mini figures in this series to collect!

BART SIMPSON
Bart Simpson
The iconic character from The Simpsons and a must have in the collection. A plus Is that he has 'sleeve' hands , which I believe is new to minifigures . Most minifigures hands component are printed in a single colour. There are 4 characters with 'sleeve' hands in the series including Homer, Nelson and Milhouse. Bar is quite easy to identify, feel for the skateboard and two set of wheels to confirm.

HOMER SIMPSON
He is the Dad of Bart and just as popular as him. The small parts are critical to identify him. Feel for the remote control and donut.
Homer and Marge
MARGE SIMPSON
Marge is the mother of Bart and the girls. She is easy to identify by the bumpy long hairpiece. Feel the bag and square magazine for confirmation.

LISA SIMPSON
There are a total of 5 short legs characters, including the charismatic Liza . For Her, the head and the Saxaphone is the differentiator.
Sisters : Lisa and Maggie
MAGGIE SIMPSON
The baby of the family and possibility LEGO first infant baby character. This one will be a must have for the one piece infant itself. Feel the teddy bear to get this little baby.

GRAMPA SIMPSONS
GRAMPA can be mistaken with Homer as they have similar head. Feel the square newspaper to ascertain his identity,

Grampa Simpsons
KRUSTY THE CLOWN
This clown is not funny in reel life. An easy piece to identify with the two protruding hair piece.
Krusty the Clown
SCRATCHY
Part of the popular cartoon on Simpsons world , Itchy and Scratchy , Scratchy is one mean cat that always try to hurt Itchy but failed. He is a paradox of Tom of the ' Tom and Jerry' fame. Feel for his axe and his unique tail accessory that can be used in other minifigures.
SCRATCHY and ITCHY
ITCHY
Don't underestimate the little mouse. His obvious club and ears are a sure giveaway using the touch and identify technique.

MR BURNS
Otherwise known as Charles Montgomery Burns. Springfield's richest and most powerful man can be identified by the radioactive rod and the fishbowl.
Mr Burns
CHIEF WIGGUM
The head of police at Springfield can be identified by his loud hailer and baton.
Chief Wiggum, Nelson Muntz, APU Nahasapeemapetilion
NELSON MUNTZ
He is the main bully and Bart's former arch enemy. His baseball bat is uniquely shaped . Feel for the groove.
APU NAHASAPEEMAPETILON
Better known as APU, he is the owner of Kiwi E-mart. Identify him by his cup. Note his cup does not have handle.
Milhouse Van Houten & Ned Flanders
MILHOUSE VAN HOUTEN
Bart's best friend , he can be identified from his Square Biclops comics. He can be mistaken with Ralph Wiggum as both has the same number of similar parts. The difference will be from the shape of the head.

NED FLANDERS
The good natured neighbor. He is an easy pick with the distinct tool box and mug
Ralph Wiggum
RALPH WIGGUM
His is the resident oddball with the weirdest lines in the show. Identify him by his square Happy Valentines card. Do not mistake him with Milhouse.
Dad is Homer
When I asked the boys which one they think Dad likes , each has their own choice. big C chose Homer while Little Lou chose Bart.
My Simpsons family
For the record , both of them are right. In fact I think this range of minifures rocks. They are even better than the LEGO movies due to their quality and familiarity with me. Furthermore , the minifigures looks uncannily like their show counterparts ( save for missing an odd tummy or two). With such impressive detailing, I think this will make it to the collections of most AFOL (Adult fans of LEGO).
We love the Simpsons
The Simpsons are now available at Toys R Us. Most specialty stores have sold out and new stock only coming in on June. I have almost all characters save for Ralph. The search for Ralph will continue till the collection is complete.
The Simpsons minifigures series
If you intend to start your collection , this is the combination you are most likely to find in each box.
5 pieces per box
  • Homer Simpson
  • Bart Simpson
  • Marge Simpson
4 pieces per box
  • Lisa Simpson
  • Maggie Simpson
  • Ned Flanders
  • Krusty the Clown
  • Itchy
  • Scratchy
3 pieces per box
  • Nelson Muntz
  • Grampa Simpson
  • Milhouse Van Houten
  • Ralph Wiggum
  • Apu Nahasapeemapetilon
  • Chief Wiggum
  • Mr. Burns
If you are just aiming for The Simpsons family, it should be a relatively easy haul. If you want the whole collection, aim for the rarer pieces first. The touch and feel method works like a charm for this series as there are very distinct parts for almost all the minifigures.
Minifigures tend to increase in price over time so I do feel LEGOs are great for collecting. If there is one toy I would indulge in, LEGO would be it. It helps too that my boys share the same passion as me.

Till the next LEGO Minifigures series!
