Jamie's Italian : A Focaccia Party + New Kids Menu

The past month had been a special treat for our little chefs in the house. Given that  the boy's dream is to be a chef, it will be hard to resist invites that will take him a little closer to his dream. Being supportive parents, we intend to let our children pursue their dreams as they wish. Thus when Jamie's Italian invited us for a Focaccia Party at Vivocity, we are all set to go!

The Venue

Jamie's Italian was started by the popular English celebrity Chef Jamie Oliver. Inspired by Jamie's passion for Italian food, Jamie's Italian was born in 2008.

When you step into Jamie's Italian, the first impression is the wonderful ambience. We love the setting and its homely charm. The place itself was large enough to house over 100 guests.

It you intend to have a private party for up to 12 guests, do go for the booth seats. It is simply gorgeous.

The Focaccia Party
Jamie's Italian Focaccia Party
This would be the first Focaccia party the boys attend. Focaccia is a flat oven-baked Italian bread product similar in style and texture to pizza doughs. Given their experiences in pizza making, this was right up their alley.
Can you differentiate your pasta?
The boys had an introduction to pasta and a mini tour at Jamie's Italian herb garden. Overall it has been a great experience with the crew at Jamie's Italian doing a fantastic job in engaging the kids.
Let me smell the herbs!
We are told that the focaccia parties are available for group bookings for a minimum of 8 kids. The party includes focaccia making, pasta extruding, an herb garden tour, and mini focaccia to take home. Plus one kid's meal from kids' ala carte menu with fruity water ( water infused with fruits)
Price at $45++ per kid, it would be a great alternative for a mini birthday bash for the kids.

Take me home!
New Kids Menu

To complete the experience, we were introduced to the latest kids menu from Jamie's Italian.
Secret Seven Tomato Pasta Bake
From spaghetti to mini beef burgers to fish of the day and happy chicken lollipops, you would be able to find a dish that suits your child's palate.

No standard 'hotdogs and nuggets' fare here. The food here is all natural with a splendid Italian influence.

Seasonal Vegetable Bruschetta ($10.50++)

Marinated and grilled vegetables, smashed minty pea pesto, ricotta & mint.

Crab Spaghetti ($26++) - only available at Jamie's Italian Vivo City
An old classic of chilli, garlic, fennel, capers, anchovies and brown crab meat fried until aromatic and all ingredients are combined. Pasta is cooked till nearly al dente then added to brown crabmeat mixture with some vegetable stock. When al dente, we stir through some white crab meat and lemon juice and combine thoroughly.

Penna Arrabbiata ($22++)

Tomato, garlic & basil sauce with chili & crunchy, herby breadcrumbs.

Lamb Chops Scottaditto ($44++)

Lamb chops cooked al mattone, a Tuscan method of grilling meat under a brick which pushes the meat further against the grill's grates, allowing it to develop a smoky, juicy and flavourful result.

Crab Arancini ($12.50++)
Fried balls of crab risotto served with a complimentary delicate summer salad of crunchy fennel, soya beans and celery leaf.

My personal favourite will be the Lamb Chops Scottaditto, while we think the Crab Spaghetti would be worth a try.
