SCSM Kids Dash 2018 Review: Dashing through Universal Studios

Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon Kids Dash is back.

This time it will be a dash around Universal Studios Singapore. Last year, we had a blast zipping through Orchard Road. Naturally, we look forward to this year's run at Universal Studios Singapore. We are accustomed to zipping around through USS, so this run should be a breeze.

Compared to other Kids Dash, this race started pretty early at 7am. On normal days, it may be ok, but we just step out of a non-stop 17 hours flight from the US in less than 24 hours, so we are currently in our 'jet-lag' phase. That said, it did not stop us from getting out of bed at 5am to prepare for this.

The best part about Kids Dash is to run as a family. Experiencing a race together is great for family bonding. You could see many parents, including our own taking photos and videos of this moment.
The start was a breeze. The running contingent was kept at a reasonable size, so we do not feel too much of a squeeze compared to the previous run. The venue was great as it provided ample space to run.

Unlike most kids runs, the course is only 600 meters long. That means you can literally dash from one end to another. It was great running through a deserted yet familiar sight of Universal Studios Singapore.

There were no pre or post-race activities for this event. However, there was an option of getting discounted Universal Studios Tickets for the day. It was a treat to get the tickets to enjoy the theme 'A Universal Christmas'  at USS.
