As Singapore began to eradicate Covid19 from the local community and the dorms, it will prepare itself for the next wave as the opening of borders become the next step to recovery.

While that is the next logical step, it will not be without risk. Nonethless, it is carefully calibrated with green lanes or travel bubbles between countries that have similar numbers and controls as us, it will be a small step back to pre Covid19 days.


1) 68 new Covid19 Cases

It is a good day for the numbers as it drops below 100 once more. 14500 workers are still in quarantine. There are 0 community cases but 2 imported cases. Imported cases are from India

2) 152 tested positive out of 83K travellers entering Singapore from June 18 to Aug 16

That is an infection rate of 0.18%.

8 out of 10 are from India and the Philippines and no cases from Malaysia since Apr.  239 imported cases reported between June 19 and Aug 19.

India has the highest number of imported cases at 157. Majority of the cases are work pass, dependent's pass, Singaporeans and PR.

3) UOB to reopen remains Singapore branches, resume full operations.

The seven branches are Bishan, Changi Airport, Coleman, Hougang, Marina Bay Financial Centre, Upper Bukit Timah and Hangout @ UOB.

4) Safari Zoo Run is back

It will go virtual instead of mass run. Entitlements now include entrance to all 4 parks (Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, Jurong Bird Park and River Safari) Registration will reopen and starts from $60.
