NTUC FairPrice Xtra will open at Parkway Parade

 

Guess who is taking over Giant at Parkway Parade?

NTUC Fairprice Xtra will be taking over the spot left by Giant. Taking half the 5th Floor of Parkway Parade, NTUC Fairprice Xtra will be the new hypermart helming the popular shopping mall at Marina Parade. Judging by the billboard, Unity will also open in the same vicinity.

Base on the work permit, NTUC Fairprice Xtra could open as early as Nov.

What is Fairprice Xtra?

NTUC has 9 different retail formats, FairPrice Xtra is deemed to be the biggest with a hypermarket that provides an extensive range of products and services, including electronic products and clothing choices for the family. It will fill in the gap that was left by the iconic Giant hypermart at Parkway.

Supermarkets in the vicinity

Fairprice Xtra will not be the only Supermarket within a 1km radius. There is Fairprice Finest at Marine Parade Central ( Previously Marine Parade Library)  and FairPrice Finest at Katong V. Within Parkway Parade, there is Cold Storage at the basement. 

Will this new addition lead to some closure, especially for NTUC Finest?
