Singapore's biggest claw machine arcade is in Tampines!

Since the close of Play United @ Kinex, the east has been missing a decent place to claw.  Play United @ Tampines One was opened a year ago and was Southeast Asia's largest claw machine arcade. 

It was also deemed the world's third-largest claw machine arcade by the variety of claw machines available. This was during the peak of COVID-19; thus, it was pretty low-key. While we did visit it this year, our visits have been less frequent due to COVID-19.

Since it is past the 1-year mark, we decided to head back to Play United @ Tampines One to see what has changed.

During the past year, there were some changes within the arcade. At one stage, half the arcade was transformed into a pasar malam store.

We are glad to see it back to its original concept as a claw machine arcade, as most of the space is now dedicated to claw machines.

3 Claw Catcher

The most common claw machines are those using 3 claws to catch the toys. Winning is a matter of skill with a dash of luck. See our latest video to see how we do.

There are other claw machines that use similar play techniques found in Japan.

As for the plushies in the machines, most of them are probably replicas. There are a few plushies that are branded by Play United.

There is also a smaller area dedicated to arcade games. In comparison to Fat Cat arcade or Cow Play Cow Moo, they are much fewer varieties.

The main attraction here is still the claw machines.

You can opt to keep the plushies you catch or exchange them for points. It is usually one plushie = one point.

All in all, it makes for great fun. Being avid claw machine fans, we will probably be back here again soon!

The cost of tokens varies according to the amount and promotions. For example, during school holidays, you can get 88 tokens (gameplay) for $50.
