Don Don Donki PLQ Review : New Store in the East!

The Eastside has always been missing Don Don Donki.

While there are outlets at Tampines, Downtown East and Jewel, they always seem as far away for residents from Geylang, East Coast Road and the Eunos area. Come 1st June, this will change with Don Don Donki's latest store at Paye Lebar Quarters(PLQ)

Combing several units on level 4, Don Don Donki has opened its famed Japanese discount store chain at PLQ. It is much bigger than the Tampines and Downtown East outlets and has a Food Hall.

Don Don Donki Train

This store has a 'train theme'. While it may not be evident in the store, the giant mural in between the stores would be the store's calling card. Let's check out what you can get from the store.

Floor Plan Don Don Donki

The first thing that catches our eye is the Furu Furu section. This is where you can get fresh produce, including Japanese melons.

Furu Furu

Opposite this section is the snacks area.

You can get limited edition Pocky, Jellies, Chipstars and more here!

Do you know that Don Don Donki has its own house brand?

Jonestu Kakaku Snacks

Jonetsu Kakaku produces several food products and household essentials such as pots, pans and more!

Fresh Produce

There is also fresh produce like meat, seafood and more

Though this is a Japanese store, they also sell stuff from other regions.

Fancy Dessert, you will find plenty of options here that you cannot find in a regular supermarket.

That is probably why Don Don Donki remains popular with the locals.

If you need to unwind, Japanese beers like Sapporo, Ashai and Sake can be found here.

Sanrio Characters
There are also Sanori Characters exclusive to the PLQ outlet.

We do fancy this DonPen little plushie.

Household essentials like shampoos and even makeup can be found here.

Let's get back to food. Since this is a train theme restaurant, this outlet sells Bento sets similar to the ones you would get from Japanese trains!

Last but not least, head to the Delicatessen section for more desserts, sushi and sashimi!

There is more to discover, so we suggest you head down when the doors open on 1 June.

Don Don Donki FoodHall

After shopping, head to Don Don Donki Foodhall.

It's just next to the main store with enough seats for a break.

The set meals are good value for money.

Tekoyaki and Taki Soba will make a good meal.
