PS Cafe i12 Katong Review : Classy Black and White Dining Experience

Had an early Mother's Day celebration at PS Cafe.

We headed to PS Cafe at i12 Katong for dinner.

PS Cafe i12 Katong

The first impression was a collective wow from us. While i12 Katong looks like a cookie-cutter shopping mall, PS Cafes is a different vibe.

PS Cafe

Upon entering, you will be greeted by a long corridor with a bar on the side. The black and white interior gives a classy vibe that brings you back to the colonial era. It felt like a little Raffles Hotel that appeared out of the blue in the East.

It's a befitting decor given the row of shophouses opposite. If you are a person who demands an experience during a meal, the ambience exulted by PS cafe will suit you.

Can you spot the dog?

There is also an outdoor area that is  pet friendly. The black and white shades added reference to old colonial black and white houses you find in parts of Singapore.

The Food

PS. Burger with shoestring Fries ($32)

For the mains, we had the PS burger with shoestring fries.

PS Burger

While the price may be on the higher side, the generous portion makes up for it. Served with Australian barley-fed Angus Patty, Vintage cheddar, wilted spinach, crispy smoked bacon, tomato and crispy onions on a toasted sesame bun, this burger is almost perfect. The patty was cooked to your preference and is thick and juicy.

The shoestring fries were generous. You can also modify the sides to your choice to Mashed Potato, Lettuce Salad, Broccoli or Potato Slaw. If the fries were not included, we would have opted for Truffles Shoestring Fries, which is said to be one of the best in town.

Spicy Prawn Aglio Olio ($30)

PS Cafe Spicy Prawn Aglio Olio

We were deciding to try a locally flavoured main or pasta, and under the waiter's recommendation, we opted for the Spicy Prawn Aglio Olio.

The pasta had toasted sesame breadcrumbs and fresh herbs to add to the taste. The prawns were chunky, and the portions generous.

Cakes

PS Cafe Cakes

We recommend saving space for desserts. The cakes looked great, but we were too full to try them.

Special Items

PS Cafe Special Menu

Look out for special items on the board. These daily specials are usually not on the menu. You might see something you like for the day.

Verdict

PS Cafe is one of those places to go when you feel like pampering yourself. In terms of price, it is a tad more than a regular restaurant. However, for the portion and the ambience, it is totally worth it.
