SEA Games Winners on Day 1: Singapore Team

 

SEA games have begun!

Singapore got a good start with 5 Gold Medals on Day 1.

The winners are 

Noah Lim: Jiu Jitsu men's ne-waza gi U 69Kg

Noah won Singapore's first Gold. Despite an injury, he came out tops for the event.

Quah Jing Wen (Women's 200m fly)

She retains her fly crown with a time of 2 min 10.63 sec. She is the youngest of the Quah Siblings, well known for their prowess in the pool

Jonathan Tan (Men's 100m free)

Jonathan upset the favourite Teong Tzen Wei, who was the favourite to win.

Quah Zheng Wen (Men's 100m back)

Multi-medallist Quah won his 5th straight 100 m backstroke in this biennial games.

Women's 4 x 100m Free

This historical gold marks Singapore's 1000 Gold medals in the game.

There are also 2 Silver and 4 Bronze medalists. Unfortunately, the upset for the day would be the elimination of the Lions team from football. Our World Cup dream has a long way to go.
