Dahlia Dreams 2024: Legend of the Dragon Gate

Dahlia Dreams is back at the Flower Dome.

This annual floral display at the Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay is ushering the Year of the Dragon in style with not one but nine glorious Dragons taking centerstage amidst thousands of Dhalia.

Here are all the dragons you can find.

1 Dragon at the Gate

The first thing you see when you enter is this dragon.

The dragon is holding a pearl that has flowing water into a garden. This majestic dragon is made of hardwood and recycled steel, created by British-born sculptor James Doran-Webb.

2 7m Tall Dragon

This impressive dragon on the Flower Bed stretches over 15 meters in length, rising majestically from a bed of dahlias.

3 The Yellow Dragon

4 The Purple Dragon

The purple Dragon glances at the pearl. The pearl is said to represent wisdom, enlightenment and spiritual energy.

5 The Red Dragon

The Red Dragon is seen playing with a fiery ball. Ball or pearl is often associated with Chinese Dragon and forms a part of Dragon dance performances.

6 The Blue Dragon

The blue Dragon is seen riding the tide and chasing a pearl.

7-8 Dragon dance

A pair of Dragons dancing around the ball.

9 The Dragon

The original OG Dragon at the Flower Dome. This dragon is found on the second floor and is more European than Chinese. It has been guarding the Flower Dome for a long time. It was part of the Zodiac character series in the Flower Dome.

鱼跃龙门

Other than the nine dragons, you will see a floral display that interprets the Chinese Saying 鱼跃龙门, which means 'carps leap over the dragon gate', a metaphor for courage and the pursuit of greatness.
