COE falls for most categories

COE continues its downward trend from the year high. Cat E has the highest drop by $6095 to $94,006

It is worth noting that for CAT A, the number of unsuccessful bids is more than successful bids (973 to 936). This shows that the demand is still strong and probably the residual of the Singapore Motor Show in January.

Nonetheless, COE may fall further, as evident from CAT A and CAT B's unsuccessful bids that have steadily declined. CAT A unsuccessful bids fall from 1021 to 973, and CAT B's unsuccessful bids drop from 567 to 392. Furthermore, past studies seem to suggest that more cars are due for scrap and that would lead to increase in COE from the later part of 2024 to 2026.
