Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar 2024 Review: Smaller and Quieter

Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar is back!

This year, it will run for a full month from March 8 to April 9.

Unlike last year's mega bazaar, this year's bazaar is much smaller in size and number of stalls. Instead of different zones, the bazaar is mostly on Geylang Road from the Geylang Seria intersection to Engji Aman Road. There are about 500 stalls, with 150 food and drink stalls, each selling items from $3.

Here are 5 things you can do at Geylang Serai Bazaar 2024.

1 Indulge in food.

Food is still the main draw for Geylang Serai Bazaar. This year, there are supposedly 150 food stalls.

There are still interesting food stalls alongside the traditional Ramly Burgers and kebabs.

Here's a peek at some of the stalls there.

There are also similar stalls spread around a small area.

We spotted at least 3 Ah Moi Thia Tea within 100 metres of each other.

2 Get Hari Raya Clothes

Quite a few stores are selling Hari Raya Clothes and jewellery.

We spotted several spots with classy wear.

3 Hari Raya Goodies

Always good to stock up on Hari Raya goodies for the visiting.

4 Decorate your home

If you are looking for carpets or furniture to brighten your house, Geylang Bazaar has a few stores that accommodate your needs.

5 Hari Raya Lightup

The Hari Raya Lightup stretches from Changi Road to Geylang Road. Check it out when you are there!

Verdict

There are no pony rides or claw machines to spice up the atmosphere. Instead, booths with property agents, cars, and repeated food stalls exist.

Even the game stalls have all but vanished, save for one stall we spotted.

Even the eating area has been scaled down, with a smaller seating space ( no more double story) and a small stage.

On the flip side, side activities are lined up during the bazaar.

Last year's bazaar feels more lively than the current one. With a smaller set-up, some buzz is also missing from this year's edition.

While the crowd will still be there, it will not get as much footfall as last year's bazaar.

Here is a video walk through of the Bazaar
