Le Cafe Vie'5 : Cosy Cafe with Vietnamese Speciality Coffee and Meals

Working in the industrial estate of Paya Lebar?

Not many people would know, but there are a few interesting restaurants along the line of shophouses along Upper Paya Lebar Road. From Curry Fish Head to Dim Sum to Vietnamese food, it is a place for those who want to chill in a nostalgic environment.

If you are working there, you may have tried these restaurants, if not, join us in exploring Le Cafe Vie'5, Singapore's only Vietnamese coffee roastery cafe.

Interior

Step inside and you have a rustic vibe with wooden furniture and concrete floors. It is small yet seatings are spacious.

The wall of well-thought-out quotes caught our attention.

Speciality Coffee

L'Vie5 sources green beans from coffee farms in Vietnam.

We tried the Vie5 Latte and Coconut Snow Coffee.

The Vie5 Latter was aromatic and delightful.

The Coconut Snow has a unique coconut cream top with a scoop of coconut slushy. This was a first for me and I enjoyed this strong and thick brew.

North Vietnam Dishes

As for the food dishes, they are inspired by and originated from North Vietnam - Hải Phòng and Hà Ná»™i. Most dishes are individual dishes instead of shared dishes found in other Vietnamese restaurants.

For the starter, we had the Hatt Hong Crab Rolls. While the ingredients are generous, it was hard to distinguish the crab meat. The crust of the roll was perfectly cooked to a crisp.

The Prawn Noddle Soup ( Bun Tom Hai Phong) broth was flavourful and rich with a generous topping of ingredients.

The Hot-Oiled Chicken Tigh Rice was another dish we tried. The cripsy chicken has a unique taste. The letdown was the rice that tasted rather plain.

Verdict

Overall, it is an interesting place to visit. We were there early on a Saturday evening and it was not too crowded. It's a good place to chill when you are in the vicinity.
