Pattaya Garden Restaurant Review – Hidden Halal Thai Gem at Changi Road

If you are looking for a no-frills, authentic Thai food at an affordable price. Read on!

Tucked along a row of shophouses at Changi Road, Pattaya Garden Restaurant doesn’t try to impress with fancy interiors. It’s a simple halal eatery that blends into the neighbourhood, yet surprises with its authentic and hearty Thai flavours. If you're in the East and craving Thai food without the bells and whistles, this one’s worth a visit.

The Food

We kicked off the meal with Thai Fish Cake.

The pair of fish cakes is thick, crunchy, and perfectly paired with sweet chilli sauce. A satisfying start.

Next up was the Green Curry Chicken. Creamy, rich, and packed with flavour, this dish offered comfort in every spoonful. Great with rice!

The star of the meal was the Seabass with Lime and Garlic. Initially hesitant about its sourish profile, this dish won us over quickly. The sauce was bright, punchy, and addictive. Paired with fresh seabass, it left a lasting impression.

To round off the meal, we had Sweet Tapioca—a classic Thai dessert that was simple yet satisfying.

Verdict

You can order ala carte or have a full set meal for two, including the standout seabass at under $50. With no service charge or GST, it’s a wallet-friendly treat.

While the halal menu may not be as extensive as typical Thai restaurants, what Pattaya Garden does serve, it does well. If you’re after casual, tasty, and affordable Thai food in the East, this little spot checks all the boxes.
