Worth Every Bite – Yum Cha Changi’s Dim Sum Buffet Delight

If you’re a dim sum fan, Yum Cha needs little introduction. With two outlets in Singapore — one in Chinatown and another at Changi .

This long-time favourite continues to draw crowds for its hearty selection of steamed and fried treats.

Located at ESR Biz Park, Yum Cha Changi sits right next to Changi City Point and is a short walk from Expo MRT. The interior is bright and spacious, making it a comfortable spot for casual dining. We dropped by on a Friday evening without a reservation and still managed to get a table for two.

This time, we were here for their weekday dinner buffet (Adult: $32.80, Kids aged 5–12: $16.80). The spread covers everything from dim sum and sides to seafood and desserts, and it’s all-you-can-eat.

What We Tried

Steamed Dim Sum
Yum Cha Prawn Dumpling

Plump and juicy with a burst of prawn sweetness

Fish Roe Siew Mai

Classical Dim Sum dish. Decent.

Pork Ribs with Garlic

Tender bites with a savoury garlic punch

Xiao Long Bao

Warm soup-filled pockets of comfort

Scallop Pea Shoot Dumpling

Skin was a little too thick for us.

Fried / Baked Dim Sum
Prawn and Mango Sesame Fritters

Was a tad too dry and not crispy enough

Side Dishes

Thai Style Jelly Fish

Tangy and refreshing. Best serve in between dim sum and side dishes

Refreshing Salad Prawn

 Light and creamy starter

Abalone Slice with Mango

A luxurious bite with a tropical twist

Peiking Duck Roll

Skin was dry , not as crispy skin as we would like

Breaded Crab Claw

Golden and Crunchy

Barbecue and Roasted Selections
Crispy Roasted Pork

Not as  crunchy and a tad dry

Seafood
Salt and Pepper Sotong

Crispy and a big size portion for 2

Poached Prawn

Fresh and naturally sweet

Steamed Scallops with Garlic and Vermicelli

Fragrant and flavourful. Our favourite dish for the night

Daily Delights
Chinese Clam in Superior Soup

Comforting and nourishing. This is only available on Friday

Desserts
Wolfberry and Osmanthus Jelly

Light and floral

Chilled Mango Pudding

Smooth and creamy

Baked Mini Egg Tarts

Bite size with sweet custard centre

Verdict

We definitely ate more than what it would have cost ordering a la carte, so the buffet was worth every dollar. With such variety, it’s impossible to try everything in one sitting .

We barely made it through a third of the menu. Looks like we’ll need to come back for round two.
