Children's Day activities [Singapore 2013]





Children Day is just around the corner. It may not be a holiday for adults but it is definitely a day to celebrate for little kiddos like us. We bring you 10 Children oriented activities and events leading up to the Children Day's weekend.


1) Rise and Shine Expo
 Sep 27-29 2013
11am-8pm
Suntec Convention Hall 401
Kick off the weekend with a Meet and Greet session with Dora and Diego at the Expo.

With over 120 exhibitors offering fabulous deals on 500 products and services, parents and children will be kept entertained through the many fun contest, insightful talks and trial classes. There will even be a record breaking contest in Singapore where 500 aspiring young artists come together to express their thoughts and creativity.For the little ones, trial classes from top schools such Early Reading Class, Art & Clay, Gym & Fitness and Cognitive Training will be available on site.

2) Flea For Good (Children's Day Edition)
Sep 28th and 29th
12PM -9PM
City Square Mall
B1 Fountain Square

A special children day celebration at City Square Mall. $10 from each participating booth will be donated to the Singapore Children's Society

3) River of Life
 Oct 4th to Nov 30th 2013
Gardens By the bay

River of Life is a Gardens by the Bay exhibition that illustrates the importance of a clean water system for the conservation and protection of a biodiversity-rich environment.  
A series of complementary educational programmes such as The Fruit Loop Scavenger Hunt & Carried Away Garden Trail (4 - 6 Oct from 10AM-4PM) and The River of Life Gaia Trail (4 Oct - 30 Nov from 9AM - 9PM) will run in conjunction with the exhibition that you and your kids can participate in.
4) Spend a Day with Inuka, the polar bear
 October 1st-5th

Show and Tell Session
Discover bear-y interesting facts on how polar bears adapt to their cold environment and thrive!

The Great Seal hunt
You will be little polar bears hunting for seals. Search for stickers hidden in 5 locations around Frozen Tundra. On the stickers will be fun facts on polar bears, as well as instructions on what to mark on the map* to show that you have found the seal

Draw for Inuka!
Pen your very own drawing of Inuka wishing him a Happy Children’s Day!
Bring your drawings when you visit Singapore Zoo and your drawings will be displayed at a designated wall in the Frozen Tundra exhibit. For those of you who wish to draw him a picture on the day of you visit, there will a small table and chairs set up in Frozen Tundra with crayons and A4 papers.

5) Octoburst
 Oct 4th-6th 2013

Enjoy a trio of performances with children in mind. There are both ticketed and non ticketed especially for the little ones.  For a full listing, visit the Octoburst page.

 6) Saturday Social BBQ 
Oct 5th
4 pm till late
Timbre@ Gillman

Join Timbre first saturday social BBQ for the family. There are fringe activities such as drumming workshop, bubbles fun, face painting and craft. For the adults, enjoy live music and even an ice cold beer.

7) U Picnic
 October 5th 2013
5 pm to 9pm
West Coast Road

Following the success of last year U Picnic, this year's edition returns to West Coast Park. Grab a picnic basket and enjoy the activities and events line up for you at this year's edition. If you have a ticket to the event, keep it close. We heard it is sold out for this year!


8) Berries Children's Day Carnival
October 5th
2-5pm
SAFRA Toa Payoh

Experience a traditional Children’s Day Carnival just like the old times, with Chapteh, Hopscotch and Five Stones! Bring your kids for this free carnival and have some family fun time, as well as give them a little experience of what your childhood was like! There will also be other exciting games and programmes onstage,  so join in the fun at Berries Children’s Day Carnival! It’s all about reminiscing the childhood!


Dine and Unwind
Oct 4-6
Causeway Point

Enjoy free popcorns and, candy floss and candies free for kids on 4th Oct  from 1-2pm, 3-4pm and 5-6pm. Meet and Greet the Superheros from Justice League such as Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash and Green Lantern on 4-6 Oct, 1pm, 3pm and 5pm at Main Atrium Level 1
