Asian Tales @Flower Dome

It might not be obvious to most, but I love to take photographs. It has been a hobby that I had indulged in on this blog. Thus when the opportunity arose to forgo lunch for photo therapy at the Flower Dome at Gardens by Bay for its Chinese New Year (CNY) offerings, I happily took it without hesitation.

Having been to previous editions of CNY Floral displays at Gardens By the Bay, I know this trip will be a photographer delight if similar standards are set.

Year of the Goat

This year's edition is billed as 'Asian Tales' the first of the six chapters of a story telling journey Gardens by the Bay has earmarked for the year.

Crane

Inspired from scenic lanscape mountains and valleys depicted in Chinese brush painting, this oriental setting is befitting in ushering the New Year ahead. 

There are no lions in sight this year but a wooden crane did made its home in the Gardens.

Compare to the muted colour tones of last year, this year's edition is visually more colorful with a generous dose of New year colours such as red, yellow and orange.

Equally impressive are the mountains surrounding the flower beds.

Look closely and you will spot a trio of majestically craved mountain goats.

In terms of visual appearance, it is as wow as the wooden horses on display last year.

There are also 'flower' goats found on the flower beds around the gardens,

The flowers did not disappoint as well.

From Chrysanthemums to Dahlias, this is a treat for those who love marco shots.

The displays extend from the front of the flower bed...

To the back where you can look for your own zodiac sign clad in flowers.

There are activities line entitled 'Spring Shrprises' up during this festive period at the Flower Dome.

Oriental crafts are avaliable at selected time at the gardens.

Colourful calligraphy

'Friends of the Garden' will get a little bit extra in the form of a personalised colorful Chinese Calligraphy.

During selected dates, the God of Fortune will roam the Gardens, so spot him and stand a chance to win a hamper from GBTB.

In addition to these CNY Festivities. You can celebrate Valentine's Day with your love ones with "Love is in the Air" Valentine's Day at the gardens. There will be performances by popular local acts ( Dim Sum Dollies, The Sma Willows, 53A , Inch Chua and Vocaluptuos ) under the Supertrees.
