Ever considered a staycation on Singapore mainland ?
A few weeks ago, we had an offer to spend a night at
Grand Park City Hall. Given that we have yet to experience a Mainland Staycation, we decided to take up this kind offer from Grand Park.
Our previous staycations had always been in Sentosa thus this urban staycation is a refreshing change for us.

Room options

King size bed |
We were given the option of a king size or a double bed deluxe room for the evening. Looking at the rooms, we decided on the double bed options,
|
Double beds |
The beds are Super single in size, thus would be able to fit an adult and a small child. It was a squeeze but we manged for the evening.

Double bed |
Amenities
The room comes with a writing desk, cable tv , complimentary coffee/ tea with a well stock mini bar which we did not use. Overall it feels like a typical hotel meant for business travelers. The free Wifi is a great option for tourists or overseas business travelers to have at the hotel.
For those taking the double room, do note the toilet is smaller than the one that comes with the king size bed option. You would have more room space in the former to compensate for this.

Amenities |
There is also a free shuttle service to other Park hotels in Singapore such as Clark Quay and Grabd Park Orchard. In case you want to explore on your own , the City Hall MRT is just a mere 5 minutes away.

City Hall |
Since we had been overseas to winter locations, we miss the sun and the swimming pool. So it comes to no surprise that we made the swimming pool our choice destination for this vacation
|
Straight to the pool |
The pool is located on one side of the hotel on the 3rd floor together with the gym.
|
Swimming pool |
It was relatively quiet as it was chilly while we were there. Nonetheless with the pool practically all to ourselves, we made it the 2nd home during our staycation. It was not a very big pool, but we enjoyed the time spend especially when we discovered the Jacuzzi pool.
Breakfast was at Indulge at Park. We were there during the
Christmas feast.

Be prepare to queue especially if you decide to take a late breakfast.
|
Breakfast time |
Breakfast consist of both Western and Asian variety . It was not as fancy as the Christmas Dinner, but it is suffice for a decent morning meal.
Other dining options in the hotel includes Park Palace restaurant that offers Cantonese cuisine.
Location
For overseas visitors, the location of Grand Park City Hall is the main selling point. There are numerous dining options across the road at Funan or at Raffles City.
For those who want to explore, attractions such as the Singapore Philatelic museum, Peranakan museum, St Andrew Cathedral, Chijmes , National museum , Fort Canning and even Central fire station are all within walking distance. These locations double up as architecture gems of past Singapore, making it a good introduction to Singapore's history for tourist and locals alike.
If you intend to play tourist, that are staycations offers for the hotel. Enjoy complimentary room upgrades, free wifi, late checkout, 20% off F & B and Spa.
