Set in the heart of the Marina Bay enclave, the Marina Bay Carnival is split into 2 main areas - The Promontory @ Marina Bay and the Bayfront Event Space. Base on what we experience, the Bayfront Event Space has a better selection of carnival games and toys.
Being avid arcade/ carnival fans, our main intention was to try to beat the Carnival Games. After all, there are ONE MILLION plushies to be given away as prizes during this carnival. Surely, we can get our hands on one of them.

Plushies @ Marina Bay Carnival |
We are no pros, just kids with plenty of 'experience'. After having a go at the games, we come to the conclusion that some games are more winnable than others. If you are heading there, you might like to take this into consideration before you start your carnival games. Given that games start at $5 per play, it is good not to simply 'throw-away ' your hard earn cash.

5 Carnival Games to Avoid
Ping Pong Rolldown
![]() |
Ping Pong Rolldown |
Location: The Promontory
Why Avoid?
You are given three ping pong ball to roll. The minimum to win a prize is at 8 points. If you see the board, you must aim for at least a 4 and two other number to win. However, the 4 has a much smaller opening and there are 0 on either side of it. If you miss the first try, you probably will not win. Mathematically, it is VERY difficult to win.
Roll a Ball
Location: The Promontory
Why Avoid?
Before our trip down, we had seen quite a few videos of winners from this stall. At that time, it took only 100 points to win. When we were there, they changed it to at least 140 points to win a small toy. Given only 3 chances and with a very limited amount of 100 and 50 points on the board. Your chances are slim.
Most of the numbers are 5, 10 or 20. Unless you get three 50 points rolls or at least one 100 points roll, it is very difficult to win form this stall. Again it is not exactly a fair chance if you are defeated mathematically.
Milk Jug Toss
Location: Bayfront Event Space
Why Avoid?
This required a lot of accuracies. It is not impossible but may not be suitable for younger kids. With height limitation of smaller kids, it prevents you from getting the right angle to toss the ball.
Shooting arcade
Location: Bayfront Event Space
Why Avoid?
As a marksman, Dad loves shooting games. However, for this game, they took off the aiming sight in front. Without it, you cannot have a decent aim. Your shots will probably go everywhere except for the target.
Ring Bottle Toss
Location: Bayfront Event Space
Why Avoid
We had seen people walking away with giant bears. However usually in a round with 30 players, only one (or none) will win. The odds are 1 in 30. It is all luck and hardly any skill ( unless you are a seasoned carnival game player. You may get a huge bucket of rings, but it is as good as tossing your money away.
If carnival games are not your cup of tea, there are rides for kids and adults as well.
Rides for Kids
Be aware though, a ride cost at least $5 upwards. Some may baulk at the cost. It is hard to blame them. After all, a slide down the tower that last only 10 seconds may not be the best way to spend the cash.
A more economical choice will be the 4 minutes jumping on the trampoline for the same cost.
Carnival rides such as Carousel and Pirate ships are available for kids too.
Rides for Bigger Kids
For the thrill-seekers, there are a couple of noteworthy rides to consider. The Starflyer, Mach 5 and Euro Coaster are new and worth a ride... if you dare to take them.
Food Street
If you are hungry, grab a bite at the food street. There are a decent selection of special local delights to discover.
Hainanese Chicken Rice CHIPS anyone?
To maximize your outing, we highly recommend getting tickets from Klook. The tickets are purchased online and redeem at the entrance. The queue is relatively shorter than getting your preloaded the card from the ticket booth.
They have a good deal at $45 consisting of a card with $35 credits (for games/rides) and either 2 Tiger Beers or 4 non-alcoholic drinks (Street Value about $15-20). What's more quote MBCFIVE and you get an additional $5 off the ticket price for this bundle.
That means only $40 for a $55 deal. Not too shabby.
Alternatively, book a credit only pass ( 50 credits) at S$50
