Timezone Flagship @ Vivocity - What's new?

Timezone had been our favourite arcade while growing up.



A few years back, before Cow Play Cow Moo, Timezone was our to-go place during weekends. For the past 2-3 years, it sort of disappears under the radar with several shops closing at the same time. However, the past one year has seen the resurgence of arcade and Timezone had reinvented itself to keep itself updated.

Thus, the birth of the new Flagship store at Vivocity.

Bigger spaces

The new Timezone at Vivocity is billed as the biggest Timezone in Singapore. Located at Level 2, this 12,000 arcade houses new arcade machines and claw catchers. The main difference between this and the rest is that is also has bumper cars and bowling alleys!

WHAT'S NEW?

Spin zone Bumper cars

Unlike your usual bumper cars, these are state of the art bumper cars that lights up. Instead of using a wheel to manoeuvre, you use a stick to ride the bumper cars. Looks like an exciting ride, but might be a tad challenging for the younger ones.

Bowling Alley

Timezone Vivocity has not one, not two, but four bowling alleys for you to pit your skills. Perfect for little ones, the bowling balls are a miniature version of the real deal. You get to choose the kind of games you want. The classic challenge gives you a standard round of 10 - just like a real bowling alley. The lanes also come with bumper to allow you a greater chance of hitting the target.

The new additions are fun but a tad pricey from $5 a play depending on the card you are holding.

Prize Shop @ Vivocity

There is also a brand new prize shop. With a larger array of stuff to choose from, you would be enticed to play the games. From experience, the possibility of a big win in Timezone is challenging at best. Compared to Cow Play Cow Moo, you probably need more luck than skills in scoring tickets to exchange for a prize.

Nonetheless, we do have a few arcade hacks up our sleeves. At the end of the day, we managed to exchange our accumulated points for a skateboard. Not a bad trade, we reckon.

If you are an arcade fan, Timezone Vivocity is a place to add to your list. With the proliferation of arcade/amusement parks in Singapore, it will be interesting to see if this new venture takes off. Let's cross our fingers and hope it will be a successful one.
