The CNY Goodies featured are from Poon Confectionery established in Malaysia since 1971.  It is one of the oldest makers of homemade tidbits and CNY goodies  famous fro Muah Chee and Pineapple tarts.

Pineapple tarts is one of the main CNY goodies found in most household. Pineapple in Hokkien (Ong lai) and Cantonese (Wong lai) sounds like arrival in prosperity , thus its significance in CNY . The variant from Poon Confectionery is clad in crust that literally melts in the mouth at the first bite.

Kuih Kapit are called love letters because they were used in the past to convey secret love notes between lovers . These Kuih Kapit comes with eggs that symbolises fertility. With a hint of butter, the original version is crispy and gives off a familiar aroma. Unlike the traditional rolled versions, these are folded for ease of eating. It's less messy eating it too!
