ibis KLCC Review - 8 reasons why it is the perfect weekend getaway in KL

This short 296 Km route has a whopping 8 carriers with an average of 82 flights a day. With an average of 150 passengers, it would mean a mind-boggling 12300 pax travelling to and fro on a daily basis.
With such a high number of visitors, choosing a place to stay in KL in essential. Over the March holidays, we were invited to ibis KLCC to sample a weekend getaway.
ibis KLCC is one of the newest hotel situated in the heart of KLCC. ibis KLCC is the largest ibis in the Asia Pacific. It stands out as a 4-star hotel nestled on a street with luxury hotels. With its excellent location - 5 minutes away from Petronas Twin Towers and Suria KLCC Shopping Mall, it will make a great introduction to KL for first-timers to the city.
A fair warning. It may have 684 rooms, but when we were there it was at 95% occupancy rate. So book early for your trip to prevent disappointment

1 Modern Comfy Room
Our rooms for this trip would be the Standard Rooms with Twin Beds. These rooms have a hint of freshness due to its light wooden hues and spanking clean set up. The rooms are equipped with single size ibis signature 'Sweet' Bed that has a high tech mattress with a density to adapt to the pressure points of your body. It was not surprising that we slept like babies during our stay on these comfortable beds.
Room size are from 20m² and comes equipped with 40 inches LED flat-screen TV, Safe, high-speed WiFi and coffee tea amenities. The bathroom also features rain shower together with a touch-sensitive mirror light.

You can also own for the bigger Deluxe Room with 1 Queen size bed and 1 single bed. You could fit 2 adults and 2 young kids in this room. Do book early as there are limited rooms available for this configuration.
Overall, we were happy with the rooms as it suited us perfectly for this trip.

With a good view of Petronas Twin Towers and the city beyond, the infinity pool makes the best spot for that perfect shot.
We loved it so much that we had to visit it EVERYDAY during our stay at ibis KLCC.

3 The Asian Spa

For the weary traveller, ibis KLCC has The Asia Spa for one to soothe away all the tension.

The Asian Spa is a sanctuary in the city. Visitors can opt for a wide range of treatments including pampering massages, facial and body treatments, manicure and pedicure.

As it is located within the hotel itself, you do not need to leave the hotel to be pampered. There are also couple of rooms available for the Mom and Dad to indulge and relax.

Peer through the floor to ceiling windows to appreciate one of the best views in town.

In addition, the fully equipped gym and rooftop infinity pools are located on the same floor. On a clear day in the 24 hour gym, you might even spot Genting Highlands over the Horizon.

For guests of the hotel, there is an additional complimentary shuttle service to key locations in the city such as Petronas Twin Towers, Pavilion Shopping Centre and Bukit Bintang MRT Train Station.
5 Kampung Kitchen
If you are a foodie, you would be glad to know that the in house restaurant, Kampung Kitchen serves delightful buffets.
Serving quintessential Malaysian cuisine, you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner or hi-tea during your stay.
The restaurant occupies a whole entire floor of the building with a beautiful view throughout. Pricing for the meals are also very reasonable with a buffet lunch starting at RM 29.90.
6 The View
There is something magical about the views of ibis KLCC. With the iconic Petronas tower peering from the KL Skyline. Regardless if you are having a meal or a dip at the pool, the view will take your breathe away.
For the best view in the house, head to Jaded bar in the evening and watch the city comes to life with its dazzling lights.

7 Location Location Location
We mentioned earlier the proximity of ibis KLCC to Suria Mall KLCC. A comfortable 5-10 minutes walk will get you to the mall where you can find plenty of shopping and food option. The KLCC LRT is located within the same destination too. If walking is a chore, just grab a Grab. Our cost from the hotel to Suria Mall KLCC... only RM 5!
