Mid-Autumn Festival : Where to bring your family for lantern walk and mooncakes!




Mid-Autumn Festival will be on 13 September.



During this period, there will be lantern walks and mid-autumn celebrations all over Singapore. Here is a list of places you can bring your family for a moonwalk and mooncakes feast.



Mid-Autumn Festival 
Gardens by the Bay
30 Aug to 15 September 2019 
7pm to 11 pm Free Admission




Walk around the Gardens by the Bay to see the large lantern displays such as dragon dance, illuminations of joy, a giant revolving lantern, water colours and more. There will be Lantern riddles, food street, performances and a special edition of Garden Rhapsody.

On September 14, there will be a Mass Lantern Walk. Participants will get a free LED fabric lanterns ( While stocks last) when they participate in the walk around the gardens. The walk will start at 730 pm.

Wan Qing Mid Autumn Festival

This annual cultural event is for the community to discover and experience the customs and traditions observed during the celebration. Activities include heritage trails along Balestier precinct, guided tours of the museum's galleries, mooncake tasting, lantern-making workshops, storytelling, alfresco concert performances and more. You could even light up sky lanterns here!

Esplanade annual traditional Chinese art festival in celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival is back. This year is the 15th edition of Moonfest. Highlights include Taishan Shadow Puppetry performances, nostalgic street opera performances of classic excepts by Sin Yong Hua Heng Teochew Opera Troupe and even a Lantern Walkabout on 14 Sep.

There will be ticked workshops to learn about lantern makings, Shaolin Martial arts and free performances throughout the period.

Look out for nightly stage shows ( 31 Aug to 13 Sep), Festive Bazaar ( 24 Aug to 22 Sep), Lantern Painting competition (25 Aug ) and even a mass lantern Walk (8 Sep). There will be a street light up (31st Aug - 28 Sep) with the official light-up ceremony on 31Aug 630pm at New Bridge Rd / Eu Tong Street. Look out for fireworks, dragon dance and performances during the opening!

Celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with a journey to the West with characters from popular Chinese Folklore and watch the garden transform into a myriad of plants and animals at night. There will be a night market with a variety of food and drinks at the Wave Plaza.
