Within a week be prepared to take a journey not that far far away from Singapore at Sentosa Sandsation: Star Wars Edition.
From 31 August to 15 September, Sentosa will be transformed into the Death Star (ok, maybe not, but it rhymes!). Sentosa Sandsation strikes back with 20 larger than life Star War sculptures, an international sand sculpture competition, sand sculpting workshops and more.
20 Star Wars Theme Sand Sculptures
Choose which side of the force you want to be on. Team Light with Yoda, Luke Skywalker, Rey, Han Solo, Chewie or team Dark with Darth Vader, Jabba the Hutt, Boba Fett and Kylo Ren. This promises to be a mecca for Instagrams.
For brownie points, wear your Darth Vader mask, go up to Luke Skywalker sand sculpture and say the immortal words - 'I am your Father'.

There will be free daily sand sculpting workshops around the event venue at Sapphire Pavilion beachfront. Workshop timings are at 11 am. 2 pm and 5 pm daily. ( Except 15 Sep 11am, 1pm & 3pm). All 11 am slots on Sundays will be closed for Sentosa Islanders members only. It's a first come first serve event for participants age 5 and above ( below 10 requires an adult to be accompanied).
Participants will learn from Master Sculptor on how to build a sand sculpture with only sand and water and basic sand sculpting techniques. There will be 10 groups per session (1-3 participants per group)
