Family Activities during Haze Season 2019

The haze in Singapore is back with a vengeance.

The last haze we had was back in 2015. This week, PSI of over 150 had been reported. In addition, it is forecast to stay for a few weeks. It may be a challenge for outdoor activities especially for young kids, but that does not mean you have to stay coop up at home.


Here are selected  haze-free activities for you to do over the hazy weekends

Canopy Park @ Jewel Changi Airport

Explore the massive 14,000 sqm, Canopy Park. There are 8 attractions and a partially glass-bottomed bridge. Attractions include Manulife Sky Nets, Discover Slides, Mirror Mazes, Hedge Mazes and more. There is entrance and attraction fees for the Canopy Park.

Spend a day at Jewel

If bouncing around the canopy park sounds too tiresome, there are still plenty of things to do and explore at Jewel. Watch a Vortex light show or indulge in food and retail therapy here.

RWS SEA Aquarium

First up is the RWS Sea Aquarium. Somehow being underwater during a hazy day would make you feel like floating in the sky. There is no haze in water, so this makes it the perfect place for a day out. Don't miss the giant viewing gallery and the pool of sharks!

Explore Artscience Museum

Art Science Museum has Wonderland and floating Utopias exhibition on right now. You could also explore the newly revamped Futureworld. An interactive exhibition that is a hit among kids.

Kidzania

If you have not been to Kidzania, you would have to make the trip down at least once.  This indoor attraction would make your child work!

Singapore Science Center

If you want an educational outing, try the Singapore Science Center. You might even pick up on how Haze is formed. Complete the trip with a stop at Kids Stop. With lower admission fees for locals, it is a great place to spend a hazy day.

Still, want to be close to nature even when there is Haze?

The Flower dome and Cloud Forest will be your best bet. Enjoy cool crisp air in this air-conditioned attraction. No need to thank Indonesia for the 11 months of fresh air they provide from the forest, the conservatories would have enough trees to provide fresh air throughout the year.

Stay at home

Last but not least, stay at home.
