Arts in Your Neighbourhood : Giant Five Stones, Rainbow Odyssey , Data sculptures and more!

Art in Your Neighbourhood is back with its 13th Edition.

From 7th to 24th November, experience art at your doorsteps. Play with supersize five stones, check out data sculptures, do a polka dots hunt, spot poetry on sidewalks and see a clownish dance around a stack of nine beds! 

These are just samples of what to expect for Arts in Your Neighbourhood. This year, Punggol had been selected as the main stomping ground. Punggol has the highest percentage of children under 5 years old and is probably the youngest district in Singapore in terms of population. Events are tailored for the young audience. Besides Punggol Vicinity, there will be 40 activities in 13 location islandwide with a focus on Punggol.

Five Stones by Twardzik Chin Chor Leng

Location: Oasis Terraces / Punggol Waterway Park

Five Stones is a playful artwork consisting of large-scale inflatables to resemble a familiar childhood game. In November, you can find these stones around the vicinity of Punggol. Thereafter it will pop up in various locations around Singapore in Dec 2019.

There will be public programmes on 17 and 25 November where you can create your own set of five stones, refashion them into trinkets or even have a Toss Stone Championship

Sensing Punggol by Spang & Lei

Location - SAFRA Punggol 7-10Nov | Oasis Terraces 15-24 Nov

Sensing Punggol is a collaborative artwork with residents of Punggol. These larger than life "data sculptures" will be showcased in a travelling exhibition at various location.

A Rainbow Odyssey
Location: Oasis Terraces

Come along with Dottie on an adventure to find her yellow polka dots. There are 2 adventures to explore. 

Dottie's Adventure
Navigate, sing, dance and play your way through rainbow-;icious playground. Recommended for age 6-9. Pre-registration required.

Dottie and Friends
Combing delightful props, live performance, music and movement, this is a theatrical performance for all to enjoy.


We are Punggol Explorers

Inspired by the stories of Punggol, specially crafted pins, keychains and instant photo frames from gacaphon machines($1 Each) will lead you to sites such as Punggol Jewel Bridge, Coney Island and prawn farms. Snap and share pictures of at least 3 photo frame designs at the corresponding Punggol sites and #ArtsinYourNeighbourhood and #WeArePunggolExplorers and you will receive a goodie bag!


Every Little Step I take

See short pop up performances by dancers of different genres. You can also go on a series of footpath dance trails to unwind from 7-24 Nov

Singapore Poetry on the Sidewalks (S.P.O.T.S)
Location: Punggol Waterway Park (outside Waterway Point)
Date: 7-24 Nov

See poetry revealed along with the pavilions of Waterway point when they are touched by water.  Stroll along the path and find where the excerpts are hidden. There will be a live 3-D chalk drawing activity by artist Imran Mohamed Ishak on 9.16.23 Nov 5pm-630pm

Fun with Music- A Trip to the Zoo!

The Music of Martial Arts.

A multi-cultural music performance showcasing pieces inspired by the musical styles of traditional martial arts.

The World of Teochew Music
Location : Bedok Town Square 10 Nov 5pm | Oasis Terraces 23 Nov 5pm

Experience a rare art form that is Teochew Music. The theatre is a new take of traditional art, combining Teochew music with puppetry and storytelling.


Jazz for kids - Hello Humpty
Location: Oasis Terraces 16 Nov 5pm | SAFRA Punggol 17 Nov 5 pm | Bedok Town Square 24 Nov 6pm

An interactive music performance that introduces jazz to little ones. This 45 minutes performance is presented by a live band.

Event: A Litte Bed Trip ( Petite Nuit Au Lit) by Cahin-Caha
Location: Toa Payoh HDB Hub

Theatrical vertical dance performers featuring nine beds piled on top of one another. The dance playfully examines the transitions of states from waking up to falling asleep.

There are plenty more art performances around the island at Yishun Town Square, Bedok Town Square, Mapletree Business City and more.
