Free Coding Classes for the Masses
Code in the Community, a Google-sponsored initiative will be hosting free coding classes to children from low-income families, teaching them basic coding skills and inspiring them.
It’s an 8-week Scratch and Python courses that will build the foundation for coding. Those who graduated from Level 1 Fpundarions classes, including CIT. classes held in 2017-2019 qualifies for Level 2 course.
The following courses are available for registration.
Level 1 Scratch (8-12 years)
Level 2 Scratch (13-16 years old)
Level 1 Python ( 8-12 years old)
Level 2 Python (13-16 years old )
Classes will be held from 1st Feb to 22 March
If you have a child age 8 to 16 and want to introduce them to coding. Sign up for this class at the link
To qualify you to have to fulfil the following conditions.
- Aged 8 to 16 years old
- Currently a low family-income beneficiary at CDAC/EA/SINDA/Yayasan Mendaki, or
- Currently under MOE Financial Aid Scheme (FAS), or
- Currently holds a Blue or Orange CHAS card, or
- Currently a beneficiary of the MOE Edusave Merit Bursary, or
- Currently a beneficiary of any other government scheme for low-income families (including but not limited to ComCare, NeuPC etc.)
