COVID19- Churches and religious organisation take steps to reduce spread

The spread of COVID-19 has been increasing in the past weeks.

There are clusters identified with 2 church venue classified as clusters

The confirmed clusters as follows
  1. The Life Church and Missions Singapore ( 8,9,31,33 38)
  2. Grace  Assembly of God (48,49,51,53,54,57,58,60,61,62,63,66,67,68,70,71)
Grace Assembly of God itself has 16 confirmed cases spread over 2 locations - Tangling and Bukit Batok.

As we had seen during this course, the virus is easily transmitted. The mode of transmission is said to be similar to flu. The reason why churches are vulnerable is because of the setting. Most church services are held indoor in an airconditioned hall/room. In addition, interactions between worshippers are common during service.

Other than the 2 clusters identified, there are 3 other churches mentioned as places the confirmed cases attended.

They are

  1. Paya Lebar Methodist Church (Case 41)
  2. Church of Christ the King (Case 55 and 65)
  3. God's Kingdom Bread of Life (case 66)

The three churches are not identified as clusters although there were  2 cases from Church of Christ the King
