Daily Dose June 17 : Goodbye Kidzania

Daily Dose: Goodbye Kidzania!
One of Singapore's biggest indoor kids attraction, Kidzania will be leaving our shores due to the fallout from Covid19. We did not even say our last goodbyes to the place where kids get to take on grown-up jobs as part of play.

Zank U for 4 years of fun!

1) 151 cases confirmed
149 Dorms
2 Work Permit

On the Covid19 front, the numbers from dorms dropped to an all-time low of 150 since Phase 1 begins. 2 community cases were identified with no SC/PR cases. This comes after a day after Phase 2 announcement, thereby giving 'hope'. We do feel that it is too early to celebrate and urge cautious when Phase 2 reopens.

Without the numbers of daily tests done, there is no way of telling if the drop is due to fewer tests or improving outlook. The 2 cases in the community are unlinked cases, thereby indicating that the virus remains undetected in the general community

2) 3 more places added to the list of public places visited by cases during the infectious period

🏢11 Jun 1730h to 1800h Sri Murugan Trading Pte Ltd (86 Syed Alwi Road)
🏢14 Jun 1730h to 1800h New World Centre (1 Jalan Berseh)
 Sheng Siong Supermarket
🏪14 Jun 2000h to 2100h Prime Supermarket (803 King George’s Avenue)

It is the first big attraction to announce its close.

4) T5 construction to paused
With current passengers falling by 99.5% , there is a need to assess future air travel due to Covid19.

5) 2 more men charged over Robertson Quay Gathering
This takes the tally to 9 men charged. The hearing will be in July.

6) Some eateries not resuming in Phase 2

Space and manpower are cited as reasons for this. Do make a reservation before heading down for a meal.

7) 10 Family activities for Phase 2

Just in case you forgot how to spend time with family outdoors.

8) Cases with low viral load turn up due to test strategy
In other words, if we don't test, there will be no cases. If we test, we might find some cases.

So test or not test?

9) MOM Issues fines , order closures of workplaces for failing to comply with safe management measures

Just to note , Work from Home is still recommended for Phase 2
