It Pays To Be Vigilant
First the good news.
Community numbers remain low. There are no new ICU cases for the past 2 weeks.
Weddings and Funerals would now allow more people to participate.
All these are positive for Singapore. It would seem like we have the virus under control. The compulsory mask-wearing and safe distancing measures seem to be working. While we can pat ourselves in the back, it is not the time to be complacent.
One misstep and we can go back to square 1. A new cluster with 8 people are identified at Bukit Panjang Transport Hub. Countries like Vietnam, HK and
Australia is seeing a resurgence in numbers.
The bottom line: Stay vigilant!
1) 278 cases
270 Dorms
4 Community Cases(1 SC, 3 Work Permit)
4 Imported Cases
The numbers seem to have stabilised especially for the community. Given the
outbreaks in the region from HK to Vietnam to Australia, Singapore has been
relatively sheltered with low community cases.
2) 4 new community cases linked to Bukit Panjang Transport hub
cluster
our new coronavirus patients in the community announced on Thursday (July 30)
are linked to the Covid-19 cluster at the Bukit Panjang Integrated Transport
Hub said the Ministry of Health (MOH). This brings the total to 8.
3) More People allowed at marriage solemnisation wakes from Aug 4.
You can now have 50 guests for wedding. This will apply to venues to places of
worship, common areas of housing blocks and external venues.
30 people will be allowed for wakes and funerals ( up from 20) from Aug 4.
4) Just 0.3% of cases in Singapore admitted to ICU.

While the numbers are encouraging, do remain vigilant. There are 18 deaths
directly to Covid19 with more deaths with Covid19 but not directly related
