Balloting

Daily Dose: Balloting

The election may be over, but there is still balloting of a different kind to be done.

The race for the future is on with Primary School Phase 2C. This phase is for children without any links to schools and is traditionally the hottest contested phase.

This year sees a whopping 100 schools oversubscribed and 98 needing a ballot. It will be nerve biting for parents awaiting the results which will be out on 17 Aug.

1)  98 schools required balloting for Phase 2C

With an increase in childbirth from 31000(2013) to 33193 (2014), it is not surprising to see more schools requiring balloting for Primary 1 admission. We have the full list of schools that need balloting here.

Migrant workers residing in some dormitories that have been cleared of COVID-19 will be able to apply for exit passes to leave their dormitories and visit recreation centres on their rest days from August.

In addition, workers who stay in dormitories that are declared cleared of COVID-19 and who are not serving a quarantine order or stay-home notice can leave their dormitories to run essential errands without the need for an exit pass.
