The numbers for Singapore fell to single-digit yesterday.  With that, expectations for Phase 3 rises again. The focus yesterday was on the number of people allowed for social gathering. Will we increase it to more than 5?

1) 7 Covid19 cases

  • 5 Dorms ( all quarantine)
  • 1 community ( Quarantine)
  • 1 Imported case

The numbers are getting better for Singapore. Dorms cases are all quarantine cases with no cases from surveillance. The imported case fell to one while the community case is a related case.

2) One-off additional support to be given to parents of newborn

This is on top of the Baby Bonus Cash Gift of $10,000

The Government will introduce a one-off added support for newborns on top of the Baby Bonus Cash Gift, Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat said in Parliament on Monday (Oct 5).

He did not elaborate, saying that Ms Indranee Rajah, a Minister in the Prime Minister's Office, will share more details on this soon.

3)Individuals affected by Covid-19 may apply to reduce monthly property loan payments for up to 9 months

PROPERTY LOANS

  • Individuals with residential, commercial and industrial loans may apply to their banks to pay lower instalments
  • They must show that their income has been affected by at least 25 per cent
  • Their property loan payments must not be more than 90 days past their due date, whether or not they had taken up payment reliefs earlier 
  • They may apply for this loan relief between Nov 9 this year and June 30 next year 
  • The relief will be granted for up to nine months from the date that the application is approved, but it cannot go beyond Dec 31 next year
  • Those who continue to face difficulties making repayments after the programme ends may discuss with their banks to extend their loan tenures by up to three years

5) Orchard Road Christmas Light up kicks off on Nov 13.

There will still be light up on Orchard Road, but Christmas Villages will not return.
