Daily Dose: 5 in a row
For the first time since Oct, we have 5 consecutive days with community cases of Covid19. With 10 cases in over 5 days, there is no respite. The worse bit was that the cases are not related. With increasing imported cases, we are now facing Covid19 from both locally and overseas. It's almost like we are back to Square One.
1) 30 New Covid19 Cases
- 28 Imported
- 2 Community
The 2 community cases are linked to a previous case. As such a new cluster is formed with 4 confirmed cases.
Majority of the imported cases are from India. Again, this has been consistent in the imported cases from one or two particular countries. Despite the pre-arrival Covid19 tests, there are still cases. With the need to be tested upon arrival implemented, it could possibly be identified if the effectiveness of pre-arrival tests.

2) 4 new clusters in Singapore.
Despite being in Phase 3, there are 4 new clusters identified. The one with the highest case is those linked to NewOcean 6 bunker tanker. There are 13 confirmed cases from this cluster alone. At this rate, Phase 3 could easily be pushed back down to Phase 2 or worse.

3) BBQ Pits and campsites reopen from Jan 20.
Despite community cases and clusters, BBQ Pits and campsites will be reopened on Jan 20. Do note that for camping, only 6 per tents are allowed. BBQ pits allow only 8.
We think that there will be people abusing it especially if it is not monitored.
