PM Lee Speech : 3 Main Points

 

PM Lee has given his speech.

Here are 3 points we picked up

1) Restriction to ease if the community cases come down by June 13

If community cases comes down by June 13, restrictions may be eased.

2) Testing, contact tracing and vaccination to speed up

Testing - Faster and more liberally. 

• ART and PCR test to be taken at GP. 
• ART results will be out in 30 mins.
• DIY Test may be available soon
• Test to be widespread

Contact Tracing

• Household members  (1st degree) will be isolated once a household member has COVID-19. They will only be released if tested negative.

Vaccination

• The next group to be vaccinated will be children.
• Children will be vaccinated in June. Bookings open June 1. Priority to O, N  and A levels and special needs.
• Age 12 and above together with students in institutions of higher learning will be next. 
• Vaccination of those above aged 39 should start around mid-June.
• Age 60 and above can walk in for vaccination without making prior arrangements. About 280,000 of this group have not taken the vaccine!

3) A Mask free future

If all goes well, we may even be allowed Masks outdoors in the near future.
