Emma Mattress Review + Giveaway worth up to $899!

Since Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) started, a good night sleep has been elusive.

A good night rest starts from the mattress you are now. For many of us, we can spend 1/3 of our days lying on a mattress. Getting the right mattress is thus the key to a good night rest.

Emma must have read our minds and invited us to have a go at the  Emma Original Mattress.

What is an Emma?

It is hard to decide on the right mattress for you. From pocketed coil to memory foam to latex, there are different mattresses out there that promise you a good night sleep. Our preference is that the mattress should not be too hard or too hot to sleep in. Besides being soft, a cool mattress is essential, especially when Singapore is notorious for its warm weather.

There's where Emma innovative Airgocell® technology comes in. Specially engineered to give you a cool sleep with moisture-wicking fabric (think Nike Dri-Fit and Adidas Climatecool technology), this bed would not leave you all sweaty the next day.

The cover has handles for easy handling, and the antislip elements ensure that the bed stays in place.

Underneath the breathable cover is a foam mattress that is made from 3 different sections. The top layer is the EMMA Aigocell foam that keeps you cool; underneath it is the visco-elastic memory foam that contours your body to allow you to sleep in any position comfortably. Lastly, the base is made up of the supportive HRX foam that helps counter pressure for back support and keeps the spine aligned. It also provides point elastic, so you would not feel your partner moving on the bed.

The Emma bed is also well regarded, as seen from the awards that it has garnered over the year.

The Game Changer

The saying the proof is in the pudding holds truth for our review. The only way to see if EMMA Original Mattress lives up to its reputation is to try one for ourselves. Unpacking the EMMA was a breeze. The Emma came in a rectangular box with the mattress vacuumed seal.

We like the cutter that came with the package. A handy tool if you do a lot of online shopping.

A quick cut, and the EMMA was ready to go. Transporting it on the bed was easily done with the handles on the mattress, providing the assist. The EMMA Single Size dimensions are 190 x 90 x 25. We intended to use the mattress for our pull out bed, which is slightly higher than the frame. Do take note of this if you are getting it for pull-out beds.

Our previous mattress was HARD. Although it had a layer of cushion and pocket spring, sleeping on it resulted in backaches.  In comparison, the EMMA bed has a slight bounce when you lay on it. While you do not exactly sink into the mattress, it does feel much softer to sleep on than our previous mattress. One thing that stood out was its cooling effect when you lay on it. Turn on the AC, and you would enjoy the Airgocell® technology.

Along with the Emam Mattress, we had also received the ergonomic Emma Foam Pillow. This breathable and hypoallergenic pillow.

Unlike other pillows we tried, this pillow is suitable for all sleeping position. It does not matter if you are a side sleeper, a back sleeper or even a stomach sleeper. The pillow has removable layers that you can adjust the pillow height to exactly what you need!

  1. Quality sleep is an important aspect of our daily lives, but not all of us get the sufficient rest that we need. A recent study commissioned by Philips found that Singaporeans are among the world’s worst sleepers! The global sleep survey shows that at least 4 in 10 Singaporeans, admit that their sleep has worsened in the last five years. That is why our average national hours of sleep are ranked below the global averages.

Sleep isn’t just the time when our mind and body get their well-deserved rest. It is also an active period where the body goes through a number of essential processing, restoration, and strengthening. For the average human being, an average night's sleep is around 7-8 hours. This means that you are in bed for about one third of your life! If you live, say, 75 years, that's 25 years, or a whopping 9,125 days of being asleep! As such, it is good to ensure that your bed delivers the optimum comfort for you to truly rest and relax.

That is why I love lying on my bed every night! A good night’s rest will ensure that I’m ready to tackle what lies ahead of me the next day! Hope to be blessed with this mattress! 💪🏻
