Covid-19 Vaccination for Children Aged 5-11 : When and how to book?




Covid19 vaccinations for children aged 5-11 will start on Dec 27.

This vaccination will be for 300,000 children and will be rolled out in batches.

When will it start

First vaccination batch will be on Dec 27 ( Monday). 

Primary 4 to Primary 6 pupils attending MOE schools in 2022 will receive SMS invitations on Dec 22 to book appointments. This text message will include a unique link to book a vaccination appointment. There will be 120,000 children for this first batch.

For children born between 2009 and 2012 who are not in MOE schools  can pre-register vaccination at this link

Second vaccination batch from week of Jan 3

This batch is for children from Primary 1-3

Third vaccination batch from week Jan 10

This batch is for children from aged five and above

Which vaccine to use

Currently, only the Pfozer-BioNTech/Comirnaty Covid19 vaccine is approved for children aged 4-11.

The vaccination exercise will be done across 15 paediatric centres., each with a capacity of 1000 children per day or a total of 15,000 children in a day. The 15 paediatric centres details are not released yet. The paediatric centers are manned by Minmed Group. Seven centres will start operations from Dec 27 followed by seven more from Jan 3. An additional paediatric vaccination centre within Yusof Ishak Secondary will be set up to cater to families in Punggol and Sengkang Area from Jan 11, 2022.

Special arrangements will be made for children in special education (Sped) schools and ECDA-funded EIPC Centres. Mobile vaccination teams will be deployed to these schools from Jan 12, 2022.

Is this compulsory?

There is currently no indication that vaccination for 5-11 will be made compulsory to attend schools. Additionally, there are no changes in the current Covid-19 restrictions for children under 12.
