Singapore Bird Paradise Guide: 6 things to look out for


Singapore Bird Paradise will open in the second quarter of 2023.

This 17-hectare paradise will be the first of the new wildlife parks at Mandai Wildlife Reserve open to the public. It will take over Jurong Bird Park and will be named ' Bird Paradise' 

Here are 6 things to look out for

1) 3500 birds with over 400 avian species

Promising to be an actual bird paradise, it will hold over 3,500 birds from over 400 avian species. 

2) 10 zones with 8 large walk-through aviaries

Visitors will have 10 zones to explore. There will be eight large walk-through aviaries reflecting different world biomes. 


Heart of Africa

Featuring an elevated canopy experience, visitors will be led into a dense misty forest with meandering streams.

Wings of Asia

Stunning recreation of the tranquil bamboo forest and sloping rice terraces of Southeast Asia

Crimson Wetland

Featuring the colour red, Crimson Wetland will have Scarlet IBIsies and Roseate Spoonbills gliding over marshy wetlands set against the background of a floating village in South AmeriCA

Amazonian Jewels

Songs of the Forest

Singing Songbirds of Asia will shine here will the Bali Myna, Straw headed bulbul and Asian Fairy Bluebirds

Mysterious Papua

Elusive birds of New Guinea such as Southern Cassowary, North Papuan King Parent and Plam Cockatt will call this place home.

Lary Loft

Reminiscent of the much loved Lory Loft at Jurong Bird Park, this new Lory Loft will resonate with the monsoon forest of Irian Jaya with gregarious lories and eye-catching parrots.

 Australian Outback

Walk amidst a landscape inspired by the region of Oceania and around 

Penguin Cove

State of the Art indoor habitat that will house the Gentoo Penguin,  King Penguin, Humboldt Penguin and Northern Rockhopper

Winged Sanctuary

A zone dedicated to birds of high conservation value, including critically endangered species.


3) There is an avian hospital

There is even a place for birds to recuperate. Bird Paradise looks set to become a leading centre of animal conservation, education and research.

4) Special tours

Visitors can take special tours to Bird Paradise's fully equipped Avian Health and Research Center, Avian Nutrition Centre and Breeding and Research Centre.

5) 2000 Seater Amphitheatre

There will be free flying demonstrations and refreshed presentations.

6) Family fun areas

Tree Top Play and Egg Splash are dry and wet play areas for kids and families to have hours of fun!
