McDonald's BT21 Ceramic Set selling for $69 on carousell 3 Days before the official launch - Is there a leak?

 

Looks like the scalpers are working hard.

McDonald's will launch the BT21 Ceramic Set to the public on 4th May. This was announced on Facebook on 1 May.

Surprisingly, this set was already being hawked at Carousell 3 days before the official launch. The initial price was $79 and has since been reduced to $69. The set is selling for $19.90, which is a whopping 200% more than the original price.

While that itself is jaw-dropping, the fact that it was advertised for sale 3 days before launch and using unreleased McDonald's photos is a red flag. Since this set was only launched in Singapore, only McDonald's Staff would be privy to the information. 

Would this be a case of staff trying to take advantage of the launch, a 'friend of a friend ' kind of arrangement, or a leak in the news? In any case, McDonald's should take a look at this and see if there is any intended profiteering by its own staff.

In any case, the set is officially going for $19.90 at McDonald's outlets. Don't feed the scalpers!
