i Light Singapore 2023 Guide : Marina Bay , South Beach, Millenia Walk


 i Light Singapore returns to Marina Bay from 1-25 June 2023.

This year i Light Singapore will be expanded to two other locations beyond the Marina Bay vicinity. South Beach and Millenia Walk have been added to the route. Here is the full list of installations to expect for i Light Singapore 2023.

The Route


There are a total of 14 installations. Of the 14, 11 are around Marina Bay, with the remaining 3 at new venues like South Beach and Millenia Walk. The Lights will be turned on from 730pm-1130pm daily.



1 Glacier Dreams
Artist: Refik Anadol
Location: Facade of ArtScience Museum


AI multi-sensory narrative projected on the facade to raise awareness of climate change and rising sea levels.

Watch it up close for a more immersive experience.



2 Tree Man
Artist: ENESS (Australia)
Location: Event Square

Enter the arms of the Tree Man and be immersed in the spectrum of colours. This installation portrays the balance between nature and the digital world.  It can be trippy due to the swirling design. 

3 Blumiwave
Artist: DP Design (Singapore)
Location: Mist Walk

An interpretation of renewable energy sources with sculptural waves appearing to crash at varying heights and directions.

4 Mooooootion
Artist: XD49 (Thailand)
Location: Bayfront Event Space

An interactive installation base on the isolation we felt when we were made to stay indoors during COVID-19.  Your movements are projected on the screen, so go wild!

5 Symphony 1
Artist: Chan Wan Kyn, Linknito, Linez 
The Grand Lowlife Orchestra (Singapore | USA | Morocco)
Location: Mist Walk


A light-based architectural entity that inhabits space. 


You can feel the intensity up close.


6 Block Party
Artists: Jeremy Lin, Jedy Chen, Dexter Hong
Plug & Play (Singapore)
Location: Entrance of Marina Bay Link Mall

An interactive projection that mimics the dynamic relationship between humans and the environment. The buildings on the screen will move in tandem with your body.


7 the things left unsaid
Artist: Brigette Teo, NTU, School of Art, Design and Media
Location: Breeze Shelter

A manifestation of the artist's unspoken thoughts and feelings about growing up in a time of seemingly never-ending doom. 

8 Light Anemones
Artist : Malte Kebbel, Studio Kebbel (Germany)
Location: The apex at The Promontory at Marina Bay

Versatile light sculpture that evolves with time and space.

9 Resonances
Artist: Louis-Philippe Rondeau, in collaboration with ELEKTRA (Canada)
Location: Open Plaza, OUE Bayfront

An interactive installation that embodies the inexorable passage of time. Move around and see how you change on the screen.

10 Trumpet Flowers
Artist: Amigo & Amigo (Australia)
Location: Clifford Square

It's a giant musical garden surrounded by an immersive light, colour and sound jungle. Press the keys to control the music and light instruments.

11 Aquatics
Artist: Philipp Artus (Germany)
Location: Under the Esplanade Bridge

An interactive animation depicting sea creatures swimming around and interacting with one another. Visitors can design and add their own creatures to the underwater world using a tablet.

12 Bleached
Artist: Berenice Chao Zong Xin, Nicky Josephine Tjandra, NTU, School of Art, Design and Media
Location: South Beach Ave-Level B1M

Simulate the experience of walking on a seabed.

13 Show III
Artist: Chen Jiawen, Lai Ling Ling, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and James Cook University
Location: South Beach Main Entrance

Take a virtual shower by soaking under the calming blue light.

14 Prism
Artist: Jun Ong (Malaysia)
Location: Millenia Walk (The  Great Hall)

An installation that harnesses both natural and artificial light to create an ever-changing interplay of colours of spatial perception.

Programmes

Gastrobeats
Location: Bayfront Event Space
Daily, 4pm to 11 pm

A month-long event with food, music and fun. There are 50 homegrown F&B vendors, DBS Zone with interactive experiences, carnival games and More. Admission is Free.

Lightwave: Turning the Tide, presented by Alibaba Cloud
Location: The Promontory 
Weekdays: Sun to Thurs 730pm-11pm
Weekends: Fri and Sat730pm to 12am

Transported to an underwater world with this multi-sensorial light experience. 

Tickets are priced at $5 and can be purchased from Klook here        

Light Wash
730pm -11 pm daily

Key buildings and bridges around the bay will be lit up in a blue hue on Festive Nights.

Guided Walking Tour by Let's Go Tour Singapore
Location: i Light Singapore Festival Ground
Date and Timing: 3,4,10,11,17,18,24,25 :8pm and 930pm
Price: $30 each from Let's Go Tour Singapore
