Singapore Changi Airport: Attractions & Things To Do

Whether you've had your flight canceled or delayed, or you're just the type of person who likes being organized and prepared to wait early for their flight, there's no better airport to kill a few hours than Singapore's Changi Airport — voted the best airport in the world and for good reason.

There are all the things you would come to expect from an international airport, like beautiful buildings and good food options, but that's just the start when it comes to Changi.

Here's the best way to feel at home waiting for a flight at Singapore's Changi Airport and how one of the terminals became the location for a fan sing-a-long to celebrate an American pop star who performed in the city earlier this year.

Taylor Swift’s Performances in Singapore

Taylor Swift is one of the biggest pop stars in the world, and on her current Eras Tour, she played six nights at the beginning of March at Singapore’s National Stadium. Changi Airport was the most efficient way to fly in and out of the city via her private jet, allowing her to fly straight to the next tour destination without waiting for the standard commercial waiting times. Changi Airport — voted the best airport in the world — is, of course, the perfect place to witness celebrities in the flesh. In this case, Taylor Swift was the celebrity in question, but keep your eyes peeled when traveling through this airport as you never know who you may see

Changi is an airport, but you’ll want to spend as much time in it as possible. Even if you’re not a globally beloved popstar, private jet hire is a great way to combine productivity and pleasure when you travel to Singapore. With a private flight, you can set a time that works with your schedule, so relax for longer by shopping, taking a swim, or even taking advantage of the full-blown cinema in Changi — Terminals 2 and 3 offer comfortable seats, and the latest box office hits screenings are completely free. Make the most of your airport time by making it a day out.

Get a Free Massage

When we first think of airport massage chairs, we think of overpriced service and heavily worn seats that pummel rather than relieve any stress. Things are a little different at Changi Airport. Here, you will find the very best in massage chairs, setting you up for a very relaxed flight ahead — and what makes them feel even better: they're completely free! After a day of hard work, this can revive even the most weary travelers.

The World’s Tallest Airport Slide

With the title of the world's tallest slide inside an airport, Changi's giant slide in Terminal 3 is a sight to behold. For just $10, you can ride this incredible, unexpected creation at the airport and unleash your inner child once again — an absolute bargain if you ask us!

The Jewel Terminal

Changi Airport has been developing its terminals through the years and, over the last 12 months, has opened a new terminal known as the Jewel. A state-of-the-art terminal, home to an abundance of attractions, shopping options, and the world's largest indoor waterfall, the Jewel caters to tourists and locals. Visitors can use suspended walkways to navigate their way through boutiques and shops, mixing nature, retail, and fun all in one space.

Over 1,000 Taylor Swift fans (also known as Swifties) gathered at the Jewel Terminal on March 2nd to sing renditions of some of the American pop star's biggest hits before she took to the stage at the National Stadium.

Art Exhibition

Changi is a fast-paced lifestyle haven where you can enjoy leisure pursuits like aviation, retail therapy, and engaging leisure pursuits; however, art appreciation is something that should be done at your own pace. The airport boasts an array of illustrious art displays that will capture your attention, ranging from murals to ceiling sculptures.

One of the airport’s most popular attractions is Kinetic Rain, which includes over 1000 bronze droplets that form abstract patterns and other recognizable shapes in T1’s Departure Hall. Throughout T2, over 500 clock faces form mesmerizing rhythms as the hands of the clock face spell out greetings and make other fascinating sounds. A Million Times at Changi is a kinetic art installation at T2. A mural depicting Singapore's hawker past adorns the underpass of T4's Departure and Arrival hall, while wire-formed birds hover over T4's Departure and Arrival hall. All things considered, every terminal has a work depicting ingenuity and thoughtful presentation.

Rooftop Pool

The rooftop of T1 at Changi has a swimming pool and a jacuzzi. Although it's not entirely free, for $23, you can stretch out by the pool and use the shower facilities, which to us is a pretty good deal. Poolside, there's also a 24-hour bar, so if you want a holiday before you go on holiday, this is the only place you need to be before your plane sets off. Remember to pack some extra clothes and your swimming shorts in your carry-on luggage before you indulge in one of the best rooftop pools.

Wall Climbing

Changi Airport is already known for its many attractions, but what keeps this airport continuously achieving such a high status is the additions it keeps making. The latest attraction to grace Changi is a new bouldering and rock climbing facility in basement 3 of Terminal 3. Here is where children and adults alike can scale some of the best walls in the world.

The main attraction of Climb@T3 is the 8-meter High Wall. Here, you can hook yourself up to the auto-belay system and challenge yourself to any of the 20 climbing routes. If the ropes are more your thing, make your way to the 12-metre-long and 2.5-metre-high Boulder Wall, the ideal spot for beginners and kids looking to practice and build their confidence before trying the High Wall.

Do More at Changi Airport

This is just a small selection of what Changi Airport has to offer. With its continued growth, Changi is developing more facilities than your standard airport, catering to the needs and desires of travelers from all over. Changi is the airport for everyone. There are things for kids, adults, relaxers, shoppers, adventurers, and film buffs. The hardest thing to do is get to your gate on time.
