Dragon Boat Festival at Chinatown Singapore : 7-9 June

 Dragon Boat Festival is coming to Chinatown!

The Dragon Boat Festive falls on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, which this year is officially 10 June.

From 7-9 June, Smith Street will be the place for you to make Hainanese Rice Dumplings, win attractive prizes at the Dragon Boat (Rowing Machine) Contest and enjoy traditional Chinese performances.

Games

In addition to the Dragon Boat Race, there is the Guess the Numer of Bak Chang in a Gunny Sack contest, lantern riddles, storytelling, a dragon boat craft workshop, and old-school traditional childhood games.

Make a Wish

Make a wish and make a difference for the Association of Persons with Special Needs(ASPN). Buy a Wish Dumpling Sachet for $5 and hand your wishes at the Wishing Wall. All proceeds will be donated to APSN, and donors stand a chance to win a 2S1N staycation package from Amara Singapore and Dorsett Singapore.

Workshops

There is also a special hands-on Hainaese Bak Chang Workshop where you can make Hainanese rice dumplings. There is also A Sip of Heritage with Rice Wines workshop where you can explore the traditional Chinese medicinal benefits of rice wine and savour the different varieties of rice wine.

Performances

Lion Dance, Dragon Dance, Guzheng and Cantonese Opera performances will also be there.
