Scam Alert: Fake NDP 2025 Tickets Circulating Online
Scammers are targeting National Day Parade (NDP) 2025 ticket seekers with a new tactic involving fake listings for physical NDP tickets on social media groups and platforms.
Modus Operandi:
-
The scammer posts using different Facebook profiles, often impersonating legitimate users or using stolen accounts.
-
A standard message is recycled, offering 4 tickets to the NDP 2025 at Padang for $25 each, with highlights of the event such as fireworks, fighter jet flypast, and a festive atmosphere.
-
A photo of a supposed physical ticket is attached to lend credibility.
-
Victims are instructed to contact a phone number ending in 0348, and asked to PayNow via a QR code before receiving any tickets. They do not entertain payment upon meetup
-
The scammer does not modify the message, making it easier to spot due to repeated content across multiple profiles.
Red Flags to Watch Out For:
-
Too-good-to-be-true deals on exclusive events.
-
Requests for advance payment via PayNow QR codes.
-
Repetitive messages shared under different names or accounts.
-
Urgent "first come, first served" tone to pressure quick payment.
